Take a number, square it, add a constant, and repeat. Some starting points stay small forever; the rest fly off to infinity. Colour the ones that stay, and the border between the two turns out to have no end of detail, however close you look.

Written in Dart, compiled to JavaScript, baked into this page. Computed pixel by pixel in 64-bit floating point, which gives out at around ten trillion times zoom.
